The painting Judith by Italian artist Giorgione is one of the few owned by the State Hermitage Museum. The artwork was restored in the 19th century, as it was covered by a thick layer of dark yellow varnish. The restoration was only completed in 1971 bringing the work as close as possible to its original look.
